The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB), in partnership with the Young People's Language School (YPLS) , is offering the second edition of its summer credit program for newly-arriving international ESL students. This unique 8-week program allows participating students to earn an Ontario high school ESL credit over the summer and consists of three core components.
The 2023 offering of the OCDSB/YPLS Summer Credit Program has been cancelled.

Course follows Ontario ESL curriculum and is taught by experienced OCDSB language teachers

Content-Based Language Learning
Classes focus on developing the English skills specific to such subject areas as Math, Science, Arts, and Canadian Studies, and Health & Physical Education

High School Foundation
Program provides an orientation for students before their placement in Ottawa high schools and focuses on Writing, Reading, Speaking, Presentation, and Math skills
