General Information

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is part of the government of Ontario's public school system and serves over 73,000 students within the City of Ottawa. The OCDSB is the largest school board in the National Capital Region and offers students a world of choice for education, growth, and achievement.

Approximately 80 percent of OCDSB graduates enter post-secondary institutions. OCDSB students have distinguished themselves at colleges and universities throughout Canada and around the world.

The OCDSB schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and that meet the individual needs of students.

A variety of the programs includes:

  • English as Second Language (ESL)
  • International Languages (IL)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • Advanced Placement (AP)
  • International Certificate Program (ICP)
  • General Interest Offerings

There are 138 schools in the OCDSB. These include:

  • 113 elementary schools including intermediate schools and two special education centres
  • 25 secondary schools, including an adult high school
