District Profile

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is part of the government of Ontario's public school system and serves over 70,000 students within the City of Ottawa. The OCDSB is the largest school board in the National Capital Region and offers students a world of choice for education, growth, and achievement.

Approximately 80 percent of OCDSB graduates enter post-secondary institutions. OCDSB students have distinguished themselves at colleges and universities throughout Canada and around the world.

The OCDSB schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and that meet the individual needs of students.

A variety of the programs includes:

  • International Languages (IL)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)
  • Advanced Placement (AP)
  • General Interest Offerings

There are over 148 schools in the OCDSB. These include:

  • 115 elementary schools
  • 26 secondary schools (including Adult High School)
  • 2 virtual schools (OCV Elementary and OCV Secondary)
  • 5 secondary alternate programs
