Students are placed in schools where space is available and where there is an appropriate program of study (e.g. English as a Second Language). Applicants may suggest a specific school that they would like to attend at the time of application. The Board will try to accommodate an applicant's choice providing the chosen school has space and an appropriate program is available. Please note that the OCDSB has the right to make the final decision regarding school placement.

The school board offers a variety of programs in its 25 secondary schools.

Elementary School Assignment

Students are assigned to a school based on the understanding that the students will be living with his or her parent or custodian in a home that is located within the school's boundary area.

Please contact the International Student Program office for assistance with selecting a school.
