Students should plan to arrive in Ottawa on August 25th for the September semester and January 25th for the February semester.
Please inform the International Student Program office of the arrival information when the flight schedule is confirmed.
Orientation is held the week before classes begin and consists of both in-person and online sessions.
Classes usually start on the first Tuesday of September. Please confirm the exact date with us in the spring when our calendar is finalized.
Classes conclude in the final week of June, with departure scheduled for June 30th.
Assessment
After being accepted into the program, all international students will be assessed for their English language ability online. This assessment will be scheduled by the admissions coordinator prior to the student’s arrival in Canada. The results will be sent to the school for registration and course selection for high school students
Orientation
All new international students are required to attend an online orientation presented by the Ottawa International Student Program. The orientation will provide essential information about the program, school policies, and life in Ottawa, ensuring a smooth transition for all students. This orientation will take place a week before the start of school.

School Registration
School registration at the assigned school will take place after the assessment results have been received. The International Student Program office will schedule the school appointment after the assessment is completed.
