Arrival and Orientation

Students should plan to arrive in Ottawa 10-14 days before the first day of school for the September semester and 7 days in advance of the February semester.

Please inform the International Student Program office of the arrival information when the flight schedule is confirmed. The office will schedule the assessment date.

Assessment

After arrival in Ottawa, all international students are assessed for Math and English language ability. The results will be sent to the school for registration and course selection for high school students.

The International Student Program office will schedule the assessment date prior to his or her arrival in Canada. Students are asked to provide their arrival information and re-confirm the assessment date upon arrival in Ottawa.

Orientation

All new international students are required to attend an orientation presented by the Ottawa International Student Program.
The orientation will be done during the assessment for high school students.

School Registration

School Registration at the assigned school will take place after the assessment. The International Student Program office will make the school appointment on the assessment day.
